Hmm... maybe someone can help. I'll still do research and reading to try to find the answer myself. I am a newbie. I've done some C/C++ programming, but that's been with IDEs where the environment is set up for me, so I've had little experience actually setting up my own environment. I'm on Windows XP (I do hope to set up VMs like jethroevb has suggested) and using Cygwin. C:/StellarisWare/ C:/Evalbot/ - project folder Building the examples in the StellarisWare folder was successful using make. However, when I try to compile in my project folder, I am having file path issues. I used martinhubacek's MakeFile as a model for constructing mine. It fails on trying to find the inc folder in StellarisWare. Next thing that I am going to try is to move my project folder into the StellarisWare folder. I don't want to, but if I can get it to work... I just want to start programming the bot.

I saw this originally on Hackaday, and thought that it was awesome. I look forward to when I get enough know-how to do something like that. Got to study more... and implement more...
Great job!

Thanks, shadowfax. That did it for me! I was struggling trying to get the drivers installed. The drivers included with the StellarisWare dev downloads, and with the CodeSourcery G++ Lite would "work". Woo hoo!

Has anyone used Dev-C++ to develop for the evalbot? I've used it for general C/C++ programming.
I tried to set it up for the evalbot, but am rather a novice. I don't think that I got the environment set up properly. I was able to compile successfully, but if I ran it using the CodeSourcery simulator (arm-none-eabi-run), it tells me that there is nothing to load. Of course, I may not know how to use that properly either...
I'm game for using a linux distribution, but I've been having some issues installing a VM. Usually, I have the best luck with Debian, but the screen resolution is so small (unknown monitor), and I haven't been able to correct it (rather inexperienced with linux, too). I tried to load Gentoo, but it's too advanced for me. I lack too much knowledge of how it should be set up.

Just wanted to say 'hello'. I'm Christopher. I work as a web developer, and I'd love to move into embedded programming, so I'm excited about the evalbot. Got a wife and 3-y.o. at home, so sometimes, I don't have a lot of free time, but trying to do what I can.
I've also got a VEX robot at home, so it's interesting playing with the two, and seeing the differences.
