I would like us all to be mindful of the community when considering hardware upgrades. Those of us interested in making things accessible need to consider cost and skill required for upgrading. IMO we should try to focus on making things possible for people with just the bot, a PC and simple things like SD cards and basic USB devices. I agree completely. That sounds just like what I plan to do. Only MicroSD card I have is a 4gb. Hopefully it supports SDHC.

Is this Evalbot balancing like a Segway? I couldn't tell much from the video. I agree with nardella, that this won't be very useful in practical situations. I envision it being more of a development or rover platform. It could roll up to a ball bearing and scoop it up just enough to transport it to a different location. This will be a great project to tinker with.

I was thinking of making a drink server (if it is able to support any weight).

I believe we need to get a thread going for all the people who don't know a lot about programming. Myself included, I think this could be a great project to get started on. I think of myself as an avid tinkerer. I have always been into electronics and how things work. Never got much into programming. BASIC is about as deep as I have gone. I hope this project will get me a little deeper into it. I am willing to help as much as I can. Just PM with whatever you need. Thanks.

Thanks. Hopefully we all receive our units soon. I'll be happy to help in any way. Hope this goes far. Some ideas for some boards I thought of were:
